Journey To The Dead Sea

There is this huge feeling within when you visit the Dead Sea or Salt Sea, as it is otherwise called. The feeling is awesome.

Dead sea surface and its shore are 1,388ft below sea level. It is the lowest part of the earth. Its dept is 1,237ft. It is also one of the saltiest waters on earth. It’s about 8.6 times saltier than the ocean.

Because of its harsh salty nature, no animal can survive in it. Hence, the reason for the name, Dead Sea!  It is situated east Jordan, and west of Israel and West Bank. It is known to be place of refuge for King David.

It is a health resort for Herod the Great. Variety of products like salt and minerals for cosmetics and herbal sachets, potash for fertilizer and balm used by Egyptians to preserve their dead ones are found in this symbolic sea.

Dipping the body inside the Sea for a reasonable time is curative, especially for people with skin diseases and other ailments.

Another amazing thing about the Dead Sea is that sinking is impossible. All you need to do is to sit on it, stretch your legs on it, lie on your back and float. This is made possible due to the sea density of 1.240kg/L.

You’ll only float on the Dead Sea. You can’t sink.

When you emerge from the water, you feel refreshed and healthy, with your body looking fresh and radiant.

Maybe you’ve been to this amazing Sea before and would like to share your own experience.
